Nanook is very confused that there are no guest or guides around here! 🙈

She is 7 now and every season she’s been enjoying stealing our guest gloves, hats and random things so that they have to chase her. A game she is pretty good at😉

Hoping everyone are coping ok with this challenging time. Sending some good vibes from the north!

What a whirl wind of an experience.... Going from full operation with a Lodge full of happy skiers, the best Guides on the islands and amazing Lodge Crew. The good vibes and community was so nice and fun, like every year. .

In a matter of a few hours notice we were quarantining guests & guides, setting restrictions and instructions on new routines and helping guests figure out how to get home to their loved ones. Luckily many of us were not in a quarantine and could deliver breakfasts, dinners, our new drink; quarantinies and homemade bake goods at the door for everyone. .

We think and hope all guests who made it here this winter had a great time! .

To stay on top of the new national and local regulations on travel for tourists was important and challenging. .

But with a great Lodge manager and a team with good cooperation and communication things went as smooth as it could go. .

The fact that all Lodge staff is laid off, absolutely everyone, is extremely sad and absurd. We want to give them a BIG THANKS for their outstanding work ethics, enthusiasm, loving and fun way of being! We really really appreciate you and hope we all come out stronger on the other side of this Pandemic crisis. Also the Lodge manager Lisa showed great leadership and we are very thankful for this! .

In this pandemic there are many lives who will change, many will loose their loved ones and many will also loose their jobs. This is extremely sad and we are truly sorry for everyone.

We choose to stay positive and stay strong in this crisis. We are gonna continue to work hard, train hard, embrace nature and it’s offerings. We look towards next year and we take one day at the time. We will randomly post pictures to inspire for your 2021 Lofoten adventure and hope that at least the eye candy will be entertaining. .

Living in the arctic is for sure a blessing and we are happy to share our world with you. Dream now, visit later!

Stay strong! It’s time to build an even better character and love life even harder! .

Best wishes from @northernalpineguides & All of the Lodge Ski Lodge crew

We are all slowly taking in the enormous and substantial way the world has changed in only a few days. This is a situation that is hard to grasp for most of us. It is clear that this is a global situation that is already effecting all of us tremendously and will continue to effect us on a long term basis. We’re all in this together. We all share a responsibility to respond to this crisis with solidarity of the weakest. .

We are truly sorry for everyone effected by this. The consequences of this on all levels both personally and globally is huge. .

We will continue to be in communication on email with all our guest. At the moment we are also handeling the situation of the guests and guides here in Lofoten. All schools and daycares are closed in Norway so we also are spending time and engaging with our kids. We ask for understanding from all of you that we cannot reply to all emails or phone calls at all times this weekend and this process will take a little bit of time. We are enforced by the Norwegian government to follow their regulations and law. .

We recommend everyone to follow their own government and the Norwegian government advice, regulations and laws. This is a situation outside of our control where everyone needs to be in solidarity with each other and help prevent this virus from spreading even further. .

This pandemic has big consequences for all of us. The most important now is for everyone to respect the regulations measured by the health departments so we together can try to stop this virus as quick as possible. There are many who are loved at risk of this virus. This is a historical time in all of our lives. .

Let’s send thoughts of thanks and healing to medical and scientific personnel around the world who are risking their lives to be of service to people. There are many heroes in the midst of this! ❤️

Meet Maria, our newest addition to the team. Her passion for skiing brought her to Northern Norway and she has spent multiple seasons in our region. She loves to explore new terrain, share stories and create lifelong memories with friends, crew
and guests. Maria is an avid skiers that has traveled the world in search for good adventures. Maria also loves surfing, MT.biking, coffee and Yoga. She’s stoked to provide our guests with good food, cold beers and comfy beds, but more important - provide a true homey, personal place with good vibes that covers the needs of a skier! It was the history, culture and atmosphere that brought her here and she will be the assistant manager. We feel very lucky to have her in our team! @ Lofoten Ski Lodge

Meet our crew member Magdalena from Austria. She grew up in a small mountain village and loves the
nature and outdoor sports. It´s her third season working with us at the Lodge. She has been traveling and working around many places in Europe. She chooses special places so she can be close to the mountains, ocean and like minded people. She has many years of experience working as a host at surf camps, as a soft adventure guide and ski & snowboard instructor in the Alps. She loves to make experiences special for her guests and the connection with people. She says a daily routine would kill her so we are so happy she works with us to have fun, play in the mountains and take care of our guests. Magdi knows how to make you feel at home 👌

Whenever we get a chance to get a glimpse of the sun we grab it. Especially at this time of the year! It’s a beautiful and stunning time of the year, but with shorter days. We feel so lucky to get such a sunny and good start to the ski season here in the arctic. Pure beauty and joy all the way to the beach!

We are enjoying these quiet days before the high season kicks in. We will soon enough be busy enjoying the company of all the fun guests, talented guides @northernalpineguides and crew at the Lodge!

Hurry up and wait❄️🌊

Have a look at where you’ll sleep as our guest!

We accommodate our guests in twin and double bedrooms in nice fisherman cabins right by the sea and with mountain views.

Each cabin has two bedrooms and sleeps 4 people very comfortably. All the cabins are of high standard over two floors. They all have a warm modern bathroom and a big living room with a small kitchenette.

On historical ground with traces of settlement dating back 9000 years you’ll probably sleep well in this quiet part of the world.

There’s is little to no light pollution by our Lodge so when the northern lights are dancing on the sky it’s easy to see them.

And by the way! We are Eco-Lighthouse certified!

The Eco-Lighthouse Foundation is Norway’s most widely used certification for enterprises seeking to document their environmental efforts and demonstrate social responsibility.

We are so happy that the environmental impacts of waste, energy, transportation, procurements and work environment at the Lodge is certified. We are very proud of Lisas work to make this place Eco-Friendly!
